What Data We Collect

1. Authentication Data

• Email Address: Collected via Google OAuth for user authentication and account management.
• Google Profile Info: Name and profile picture (if provided by Google OAuth).
• Authentication Tokens: Session tokens (JWTs) stored securely in your browser's Local Storage to keep you logged in. We do not use first-party cookies.

2. Usage Data

• API Queries: We log the questions you ask the AgentsKB API to improve search quality and identify coverage gaps.
• Search Analytics: Query patterns, match scores, and whether answers were found (to improve search quality).
• Usage Metrics: Request counts, quota consumption, API key usage (for rate limiting and abuse prevention).

3. How Your Questions Help Build the KB

This is important: Questions we cannot answer may be queued for research. If we find authoritative sources, the answer becomes part of our public knowledge base.

• Your questions shape our KB: Every unanswered question helps us identify what developers need.
• Anonymous contribution: We never associate published answers with specific users. Your identity is not linked to KB content.
• Quality gate: We only publish if we find real, authoritative sources. No guessing.
• Community benefit: Your question today helps the next developer avoid the same search tomorrow.

4. Technical Data

• IP Addresses: Logged for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
• User Agent: Browser/CLI information to detect compatibility issues.
• Error Logs: Stack traces and error messages to debug issues (no sensitive data included).

How We Use Your Data

Authentication: To identify you and provide access to your API keys and usage dashboard.
Improve Search Quality: Analyze query patterns to identify coverage gaps, tune similarity thresholds, and improve answer relevance.
Security & Abuse Prevention: Detect and block malicious activity, rate limit excessive requests, prevent API key misuse.
Communication: Send important updates about service changes, beta feedback requests, or critical security notices (rare).

What We Don't Do

We do NOT sell your data. Ever. Your email and queries are yours.
We do NOT share data with third parties (except required infrastructure providers like Google Cloud, Neon PostgreSQL, Qdrant).
We do NOT use your queries for training AI models (your questions help tune our search thresholds, not external LLMs).
We do NOT send marketing emails (only critical service updates during beta).

Data Storage & Security

• Database: Neon PostgreSQL (encrypted at rest, located in US-East-1).
• Vector Database: Qdrant (self-hosted on Azure VM, encrypted connections).
• Authentication: Google OAuth (we do not store your Google password).
• API Keys: Stored hashed (bcrypt) - we cannot recover your API key if lost.
• Connections: All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of your data (email, queries, usage stats).
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data (we'll retain logs for 30 days for security).
• Correction: Update your email or profile info via your dashboard.
• Portability: Export your lockfiles and usage data in JSON format.
